Surgical Smoke Evacuation Tool Kit
Surgical smoke has been conclusively shown to be hazardous to the health of the surgical team. Although equipment and supplies are available to evacuate this plume, compliance is still inconsistent. The Surgical Smoke Evacuation Tool Kit offers tools and resources to educate perioperative nurses about the hazards of surgical smoke and to help perioperative personnel with the researching, planning, designing, and implementing a smoke evacuation program.
AORN Members may download the Tool Kit and Awareness Posters for free and earn 0.5 contact hour for successfully completing the learner evaluation and answer sheet included with the Tool Kit.
